Tatango Keywords
When you login to your Tatango account, you may notice a “Group Keyword” in the right hand corner of your screen. This is a brand new feature that we’re offering for free to every Tatango group.
In short:
- Your group Keyword is a useful tool that allows members to join your group directly from their mobile phone.
- To utilize your Keyword, simply notify your members to text your group’s Keyword (in this case JOIN435B) to the number68398. This will automatically join the member to your Tatango group allowing them to receive any Tatango messages you send.

Hi. I just have a quick question about keywords. Assuming that I have a “join” type of keyword for my group – and that someone texts my join word to join my group: Do you have a facility where that event can trigger a script I have running on my site? This sort of API configuration at join time REALLY helps with integration of other services – and that is what I’m looking for. Thanks so much.

Hey Gary. With the free, Group keyword that your group is given, there is no way to do this. However, when you purchase a customizable keyword, you can set up a “bounceback” message with any info you’d like to send to the person that is opting in to your group using the keyword.
